In a genuinely inspiring moment online, thousands of people put aside their differences to make fun of Senator Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz, who liked some porn on his official Twitter account.

SEE ALSO: Ted Cruz just liked a super NSFW tweet and people are cringing so hardTragically, the like was rescinded within an hour, but not before everyone took screenshots of it and started firing off jokes.

Later Tuesday morning (like, in the daytime), Cruz told reporters that multiple people have access to the account, and that "a staffing issue" led to the incident.
"Perhaps we should have done something like this during the Indiana primary," he added.
UPDATE: Sept. 12, 2017, 12:29 p.m. UTC Finally! One of the stars of the clip has weighed in.
