America woke up on Friday to find a new hashtag trending on Twitter: #BlackWomenDidThat.
The hashtag highlights black female politicians, activists, entertainers, scientists, authors, athletes and more and serves as a celebration of black womanhood.
The hashtag grew out of a prompt from Anthony J. Williams, the editor-in-chief of the Afrikan Black Coalition, who asked his followers to create a hashtag honoring black women.
